Pop PHP
Why Pop

Built out of necessity,
not theory.

Pop started in 2009, solving real world problems for demanding client projects. At the time, the PHP framework landscape was limited and daunting — building something new just felt right.

By 2012, the codebase got a rebrand and kept growing and evolving. Its focus was, and has always been, to be transparent and accessible within the PHP ecosystem. It's not about complexity for the sake of complexity. And it's definitely not about abstraction for the sake of abstraction. It's about building only what's needed to do the job well.

That's still the whole idea, 17+ years later: approachable enough to pick up fast, honest enough that you always know what your code is doing.

Where it stands today

Pop has been continuously maintained to keep pace with modern PHP — secure, efficient code across every component, as the language itself evolves.

And it's shaped just as much by what developers actually want and need — features driven by real use, not just by what the language allows.
